Export your history from Mint and bring it into Hunch — categories and all.
If you exported before Mint shut down, locate the transactions CSV you downloaded (usually named transactions.csv). Mint let you export from Transactions > Export to CSV.
A Mint export has Date, Description, Amount, Category, and Account columns. No cleanup is needed — Hunch reads this format directly.
Save the CSV somewhere you can reach it from your browser. You will upload it to Hunch in the next step.
A CSV is just a spreadsheet of your transactions — typically one row per transaction with columns for date, description, amount, category, and account. You do not need to edit it. Hunch reads these columns automatically and shows you a preview before anything is imported, so you can confirm the mapping first.
In Hunch, go to Import and choose CSV. Drag in the file you exported.
Hunch auto-detects date, amount, description, and category. Adjust any column if needed, then preview the rows.
Import to bring in your history, then connect your bank via Plaid so new transactions flow in automatically.
Unfortunately Mint is fully shut down, so new exports are no longer possible. If you have an old CSV, you can still import it. Otherwise, connect your bank in Hunch via Plaid to pull recent history fresh.
Hunch reads the Category column from your Mint CSV and maps it to its own categories during import, so most of your categorization is preserved.
It depends on your Mint export. Hunch imports whatever date range the CSV contains; going forward, Plaid sync keeps it current.
Import your Mint CSV and pick up right where you left off.
