Questrade

Does Questrade work with Hunch?

Checked against Plaid's live catalog on July 30, 2026.

PLAID CONNECTION

Does Questrade work with Plaid?

Yes. Questrade's Plaid connection was verified on July 30, 2026. It syncs the account types checked below:

Questrade uses Plaid's in-form flow — you sign in inside Plaid's widget, which never shares your credentials with Hunch.

Questrade is a brokerage, so Hunch connects its investment accounts. Questrade's new Questbank banking product isn't part of that connection yet.

CSV EXPORT

How do I export transactions from Questrade?

Sign in to Questrade's online banking and look for a Statements, Export, or Download section — most banks let you download a CSV or PDF of recent transactions. Import that file into Hunch and it's categorized the same way as a live Plaid connection — your assistant can read it exactly the same way too.

ABOUT Questrade

A bit about Questrade

Questrade has operated as a Canadian discount brokerage since 1999. It has received federal approval to launch a bank, Questbank, with further details expected through 2026 — for now, Hunch connects Questrade's brokerage and investment accounts only.

AI ACCESS

Ask your assistant about your Questrade accounts

Once Questrade is in Hunch, connecting an AI assistant is one extra step — add Hunch as a connector to any MCP-compatible assistant, and it can read balances, transactions, and spending trends. Still read-only, still revocable.

Two have a full, tested walkthrough today:

LIMITS

What your assistant can't do with your Questrade accounts

The connector is read-only by design — this doesn't change bank to bank.

IT CAN

  • Read balances, transactions, and spending trends
  • Answer questions about your budget, goals, and net worth
  • See every account you've linked to Hunch, not just Questrade
  • Be revoked in about a minute, any time

IT CAN'T

  • Move money, pay bills, or start any transfer
  • Change your Questrade settings or account details
  • See your Questrade username, password, or PIN
  • Act on your accounts without you asking it something first
HISTORY WINDOW

How far back it can see

How much Questrade history your assistant can read depends on your Hunch plan, not on Questrade itself.

HOUSEHOLDS

Sharing a household?

If you and a partner both link accounts to Hunch, you choose whether your assistant sees combined household data or just your own Questrade accounts.

FAQ

Questrade + Hunch, answered

Does my AI assistant ever see my Questrade password?

+

No. Questrade sign-in happens through Plaid — either a redirect to Questrade's own site or a form inside Plaid's widget — and Hunch only ever receives a read-only data token. Your assistant never sees a password, and neither does Hunch.

Can my AI assistant move money out of my Questrade account?

+

No. The Hunch connector is read-only. It can't initiate a transfer, pay a bill, or change anything in your Questrade account — the most it can do is describe what it sees.

How far back can it see my Questrade transactions?

+

That's set by your Hunch plan's history window, not by Questrade. Check the plans page for the exact number of months on each tier.

Does this work for Questrade credit cards too?

+

Not from this specific Questrade connection — see the sync table above for exactly what's included today.

Does it see my Questrade investments?

+

Yes — both investment transactions and full holdings sync from Questrade.

What if Questrade doesn't show up when I try to connect?

+

Search by the exact name shown on this page — some banks list several entries in Plaid for different products. If it still doesn't appear, import a CSV statement instead and let us know which bank you'd like added.

Does Questrade work with Plaid?

+

Yes — Hunch verified Questrade's Plaid connection on July 30, 2026. It currently syncs Investment transactions, Full holdings & securities.

How do I export transactions from Questrade?

+

Sign in to Questrade's online banking and look for a Statements, Export, or Download section — most banks let you download a CSV or PDF of recent transactions. Import that file into Hunch and it's categorized the same way as a live Plaid connection.

Can chat see my bank account?

+

Yes — once you connect a bank account to Hunch, any AI assistant you've added as a connector can read its balances and transactions. It can't see anything you haven't connected, and it can't move money.

Can I ask chat about my spending?

+

Yes — that's the main use case. Ask things like "what did I spend on groceries last month" or "am I over budget" and it reads live from Hunch.

Does this work with chat gpt?

+

Yes. ChatGPT is one of two assistants with a full walkthrough on this site — Claude is the other — but Hunch's connector is built on MCP, the open standard, so it works with any compatible assistant.
