How sync works

Connect once. Stay current, automatically.

Link your bank through Plaid in seconds — read-only — and Hunch keeps your transactions and balances fresh and categorized for you.

How it works

From bank to dashboard.

1

Connect through Plaid

Pick your bank and sign in through Plaid’s secure window. Hunch receives a read-only token — never your password.

2

Hunch keeps it fresh

Transactions and balances refresh automatically and get categorized for you, all encrypted and private to your account.

3

See the whole picture

Everything lands in one dashboard — spending, budgets, net worth and investments across every connected account.

Automatic refresh

Balances and transactions update on their own — no manual entry, no importing every week.

Auto-categorized

New transactions are sorted into clear categories the moment they arrive.

CSV fallback

Bank not supported by Plaid? Import a CSV statement and everything works the same.

🔒

Read-only & private

Connections are sealed with strong encryption and can only ever read — never move money.

FAQ

Sync questions.

What is Plaid?

+

Plaid is the secure service that connects apps to banks — used by thousands of finance apps. You sign in at your bank through Plaid, and Hunch only ever gets read-only access.

How often does data refresh?

+

Balances and transactions refresh automatically so your dashboard stays current without any manual work.

My bank isn’t supported — now what?

+

You can import a CSV statement from any bank. Hunch treats imported data just like synced data, so all the features still work.

Can I disconnect a bank?

+

Yes, anytime. Removing a connection revokes Hunch’s read-only access to that institution.
