MIGRATION GUIDE

How to switch from Lunch Money to Hunch

Export your history from Lunch Money and bring it into Hunch — categories and all.

STEP 1

Export your data from Lunch Money

1

Open Lunch Money

Sign in to Lunch Money and go to the Transactions view.

2

Export to CSV

Use the export option to download your transactions as a CSV file.

3

Save the CSV

Keep the downloaded file ready to upload into Hunch.

STEP 2

What your Lunch Money export looks like

A CSV is just a spreadsheet of your transactions — typically one row per transaction with columns for date, description, amount, category, and account. You do not need to edit it. Hunch reads these columns automatically and shows you a preview before anything is imported, so you can confirm the mapping first.

STEP 3

Import it into Hunch

1

Open the importer

In Hunch, go to Import and choose CSV. Drag in the file you exported.

2

Confirm the column mapping

Hunch auto-detects date, amount, description, and category. Adjust any column if needed, then preview the rows.

3

Finish and sync forward

Import to bring in your history, then connect your bank via Plaid so new transactions flow in automatically.
