## AI assistant

Hunch has an AI assistant that answers plain-language questions about your money and renders interactive charts inline. Every number comes from a tool that computes against your actual data and the live market — it never fabricates figures. It is opt-in and scoped: you switch on only the data (spending, transactions, investments, net worth) it can read. It can also categorize transactions, map imported statements, and (once enabled) take actions like setting budgets or creating rules. Free includes a small monthly allowance; Plus adds more requests plus AI categorization and proactive weekly suggestions; Pro is unlimited with model choice (GPT-5 / Claude). You can also bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key.

## Security & privacy

Bank access is read-only through Plaid — Hunch never receives your bank credentials and can never move funds. Sensitive fields (merchant names, account names, notes) are encrypted with a key unique to your account, and the token linking your bank is sealed separately. Every record is walled off to your account at the database level, so one person's data can never reach another's. Hunch makes money from subscriptions, not from data: your information is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to train AI models. Export everything or delete your account (which revokes bank access) at any time. Details: https://hunch.money/security and https://hunch.money/how-sync-works
